I'm currently being creeped out by this photo..
That's Josh Brolin as George W. Bush, for the upcoming Oliver Stone movie, W.

And he was so hot as a cowboy in No Country.
How upsetting.
I just tried to do my Top 5 comedies, sooo hard.

Re: General Chatter
My day has perked up immeasurably.
I was feeling crabby, so I went outside for some fresh air. During my sojourn down the street, I was stopped by an attractive backpacker and asked for directions to the hostel (which is 2 streets down from Network). I told him where it was, and then he totally asked me to go for coffee with him. I'm an idiot girl, so I just blushed, giggled and told him I had to go back to work. As I was leaving, he called out "I'll see you here tomorrow then" in an adorable Italian (or something) accent.
Swoon.

Re: General Chatter
That is so totally great! Your life is like a romantic comedy...which of course means he is evil and the wrong man for you...but still...
Soooo cute.

Re: General Chatter
Well, the fact that he's a backpacker tells me that he's probably hitting on anything in a skirt. Which is fine. I don't care if I ever see him again - it was just adorable and random (and yes, I'm a shallow whore, because it was very pleasant to be so blatantly hit on).

Re: General Chatter
Dude everyone loves being blatantly hit on.
They just played the Counting Crows cover of Big Yellow Taxi on 774. Cute.
I have't bought Sex tickets yet. Just you and me? Simon you want to hop on the Carrie train?

Re: General Chatter
I think the question is....do the boys want to get 'Carried' away?
I actually don't know the answer to this....do men watch sex and the city? I've never asked.

Re: General Chatter
I watched all of Sex and the City and loved it.
Further proof I'm actually a woman.
I will be there with bells on.
Tomorrow is the day of lunch missions! I'll have to pack heat (food) and a walkie talkie (mobile).
Dun dun dun.

Re: General Chatter
I am going to buy I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, the Wilco documentary.
I think Jeff Tweedy singing the line "I am so out out of tune...with you" may be one of my favourite moments in music. I can even remember the first time I heard it. It changed my life.

Re: General Chatter
Everything you just said means nothing to me, except maybe the life changing lyric.
What's the deal, grammar mechanic, with lyric and lyrics? What constitutes a plural of lyric? Is one line a lyric, two, lyrics? I've seen lyric used as the all inclusive too. What's right, what's wrong?
OMG OMG OMG! A movie I have to buy and watch! And perhaps watch with you guys! (titles are links)
Heavy Weights
Look who it's written by! And look who plays the Instructor! it sounds like Sandlot Kids genius!
And to a lesser extent:
Surf Ninjas

Re: General Chatter
I was with you right up until Surf Ninjas. That's where you lost me.
As far as I know (and use), lyric refers to a section of the song. Lyrics are the words to the whole song.
For example...
"There's rows and rows of houses, with windows painted blue.
With the light from the TV running parallel to you.
But there is no sunken treasure, rumored to be,
Wrapped inside my ribs, in a sea black with ink."
...is a lyric from Sunken Treasure (the Wilco song referred to in my previous post).
But I don't know. Wiki it....Wikipedia knows all.
Edit: Fine. Now that my point has been made, the lyrics are removed, for the sake of brevity. But I still love Elliott Smith the way a fat kid loves a cupcake.

Re: General Chatter
You're a fool and a delight for posting the entirety of a song to prove a point.
Surf Ninjas does look a touch... shit. But, you know. (that's my argument in favour. But, you know)
Wiki seems to be a touch confused.

I can't believe that actually made me laugh. I'm embarrassed to be me right now. Ooh, I've got a doosy of a sig to change to. Wait till ya see it. You'll pee.
UPDATE!!!!! My god. My response for dressing was ridiculously detailed. But then, yours was pretty on the ball too I suppose.

Re: General Chatter
I find that crass, crude and extremely offensive.
I'm offended.
You've offended me.
Of course, in reality, it's awesome and hilarious. I LOLd.

I sent an electronic mail to Lucas Symes asking where he was in life. I expect a reply by the end of the eve.
Chika chik ahhhh.

Re: General Chatter
I'm contemplating whether to walk home tonight, or tram it.
It's a nice walk, and only 40 minutes. Although my shoes aren't very comfortable. But I didn't do any yoga this morning.
I'm walking.
If I don't ever see any of you again, look for my disfigured, mangled, murdered body in Royal Park.

Re: General Chatter
Luke is alive and incredibly under the pump, hence his lack of communication, something we can expect to continue as he works on numerous assignments. Poor pup.
Re: General Chatter
You can tell the truth...he hates us now doesn't he? He's tired of our witty banter, scintillating conversation and delightful company. I can't say I blame him.
Edit: Obviously I'm sorry to hear that the poor lad is stressed. I know he probably wouldn't be happy with mediocre results, but if all else fails, Ps do indeed get degrees! I believe I proved that when I spanked the B.Comm at RMIT with my intense lack of attendance and excellently inadequate application. God, I miss uni.

Re: General Chatter
I could see your thought process then.
First part of post, then "Ooh, that sounds like I'm being harsh. I'll add the second bit to not sound harsh. There. Now I'm not harsh."
Good luck Bambi. Don't let the dark master's thrall take you in too deep, or you may never get out. I'll throw you a rope made of Big M if you do.

Re: General Chatter
It wasn't so much that I was worried about being harsh - more that I was being incredibly self-absorbed, and I wanted to extend some form of support to Luke (whom we have taken to speaking about like he's not here, for some reason). It ended up being about me anyway.....but there was certainly a supportive intent behind the post.
On a completely unrelated note: I'm feeling very classic 90s-era grunge/post-grunge rock today. So far, my top 5 songs of the day are:
1) Nirvana – Where Did You Sleep Last Night
2) Drop the Leash – Pearl Jam
3) Superunknown – Soundgarden
4) Sex Type Thing – Stone Temple Pilots
5) November Rain - Gunners (technically not part of the Seattle Sound - not even remotely part of it, actually - but it does fit the 90s-era bill.

Re: General Chatter
That's only fair. But we're talking about Bam Bam as if he isn't here because he isn't! Oh BAMBI! WHERE ARE YOU!? WHAT TERRIBLE FATE HAS BEFALLEN YOU! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet Emooooooooootiooooooon!
Any mudhoney? Sonic Youth (just noise)? See, see mum, I know grunge too! Mum? MUM! FUCK YOU MUM, YOU NEVER LOVED ME! *murders people intricately in a 90s psycho-thriller and blames mum at the end, especially if i was beaten by my father, but "you never stopped him!"*
Today at 2pm I will be at Western Hospital, pretending I have Cystic Fibrosis for a cadre of foreign doctors. Most likely outcome is none of them will pick it.
I want to write something on parchment.

Re: General Chatter
I want everyone to know that I had a root canal this morning, and I was super tough and it didn't even hurt. Then the anesthetic and painkillers wore off about an hour ago, and now I'm cranky and have a sore jaw.
Pity me.
Pity me.

Re: General Chatter
Root canals fuckin' suck. They're like the worst thing you can have done short of wisdoms, right?
I feel for you, but i don't feel your pain...because, you know. I don't.

Re: General Chatter
It's actually not that bad. I haven't had much dental work other than having 4 molars taken out, and this is infinitely preferable to that biatch. My dentist was fricking great - the procedure itself didn't hurt at all. I'm just a little tender around my jaw now, which I can live with, because I'm totally strong and awesome. However, it's sore enough that I've decided to excuse myself from cleaning up the apartment.....
Edit: And obviously I mean to ask - how are you? What's what in the life of Simon?
